Through a four-day program in Skåne, participants will gain insight into the entire food chain – from primary production to consumption and processing – with a focus on sustainable development. The course combines study visits to companies, research environments, and organizations with discussions and reflections on current challenges and solutions.\n\nParticipants will meet stakeholders from both academia and industry, and will have the opportunity to discuss sustainability-driven innovation, policy instruments, technological development, and business models in different parts of the chain. The course also aims to create opportunities for networking between doctoral students and others active in food system research.","Examination formats":"- Active participation at study visits\n- Written reflection (maximum 300 words) on how the study trip provides perspective in relation to the student's own research project. \r\n- If a student has failed an examination, the examiner has the right to issue supplementary assignments. This applies if it is possible and there are grounds to do so.\r\n\r\n- The examiner can provide an adapted assessment to students entitled to study support for students with disabilities following a decision by the university. Examiners may also issue an adapted examination or provide an alternative way for the students to take the exam.\r\n\r\n- If this syllabus is withdrawn, SLU may introduce transitional provisions for examining students admitted based on this syllabus and who have not yet passed the course.\r\n\r\n- For the assessment of an independent project (degree project), the examiner may also allow a student to add supplemental information after the deadline for submission.
