The geographical area being covered is Sweden's land territory, territorial water and economic zone.\n\nThe dataset contains actual and probable pathways that have been identified for each of the species. The information was collected from existing risk assessments in the European Union for species of Union concern and national risk analyses from Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. We have also consulted various databases, including Nobanis (European Network on Invasive Alien Species), CABI (Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International), DAISIE (Delivering Alien Invasive Species Inventories for Europe), GISD (Global Invasive Species Database), EPPO (European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization), EASIN (European Alien Species Information Network) and the SLU Species Information Centre. We have followed the CBD (Convention on Biological Diversity) pathways classification framework. This framework includes a total of 47 pathways divided into six main categories; Release in nature, Escape from confinement, Transport - contaminant, Transport - stowaway, Corridor, and Unaided. All but the first are unintentional pathways. The pathways that we have identified are not necessarily limited to those previously identified in various risk analyses or databases. We have identified all potential pathways based on whether the mechanism for transport is in place.\n\nThe analysis was performed for three different starting points of pathways; in a foreign country, in contained or confined use in Sweden, and in Swedish nature. The first two starting points may result in an introduction of an alien species into Swedish nature, whereas the third involves pathways of spread within Swedish nature. Pathways of deliberate introduction for contained use in Sweden, such as import, are not included in the analysis as we assume that these will not be permitted.\n\nIn the process of identification of priority pathways, the presence of each species at a starting point was considered. For starting points abroad, the species have always been considered as present. Among the 101 species, 56 occur in contained use in Sweden (including e.g. botanical and zoological gardens, private aquaria and gardens, aquaculture, research institutions and fur farms), and 40 species have been judged as being present in Swedish nature.\n\nGiven the presence of the species at a starting point, their ability to use the different pathways and to become established in Swedish nature and cause damage to Swedish nature was considered. The invasion potential and ecological effects of invasive alien species have been estimated in the risk analyses performed by the SLU Swedish Species Information Centre. The invasion potential is based on the expected time to extinction in Sweden, the geographical expansion speed, and ability of the species to colonize natural environments, whereas the estimate of ecological effects is based on the ecological, genetic and epidemiological effects on native species and natural environments. Seventeen species are not yet risk analyzed by the SLU Swedish Species Information Centre. The invasion potential and ecological effects of these species were estimated using available information.\n\nSeveral analyses were performed to identify pathways in the current state and for two hypothetical scenarios in the future. F\u00f6r spridningsv\u00e4gar som b\u00f6rjar utanf\u00f6r Sverige antog vi att arten alltid finns vid spridningsv\u00e4gens startpunkt. Invasionspotentialen, respektive bed\u00f6mningen av ekologiska effekter, uttrycks med ett samlat v\u00e4rde fr\u00e5n 1 till 4. F\u00f6r 17 av arterna finns \u00e4nnu ingen svensk riskanalys och bed\u00f6mningen har d\u00e5 gjorts utifr\u00e5n tillg\u00e4nglig information. F\u00f6r 19 arter som har bed\u00f6mts som helt osannolika som kolonisat\u00f6rer i Sverige har invasionspotentialen satts till 0. F\u00f6r 12 av dessa arter har \u00e4ven den ekologiska effekten satts till 0.\n\nF\u00f6r varje art och startpunkt ber\u00e4knade vi ett viktningsv\u00e4rde: n\u00e4rvaro vid startpunkten (0 eller 1) multiplicerat med invasionspotentialen (0-4) och med ekologiska effekten (0-4) dividerat med 16. Arter som b\u00e5de har stor sannolikhet att introduceras, etablera sig och ge effekter p\u00e5 inhemska arter och naturtyper gavs d\u00e4rmed vikten 1, medan mindre sannolika introduktioner och/eller ekologiska effekter gavs viktv\u00e4rden mellan 0 och 1. Till sist summerade vi hur m\u00e5nga arter som ber\u00f6rs av varje spridningsv\u00e4g, viktat f\u00f6r varje arts invasionspotential och ekologiska effekter.\n\nBaserat p\u00e5 antaganden om ett \u00f6kat otill\u00e5tet innehav av listade arter hos privatpersoner och \u00f6kade f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar f\u00f6r arter att etablera sig i Sverige p\u00e5 grund av v\u00e4ntade klimatf\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar unders\u00f6kte vi ocks\u00e5 tv\u00e5 hypotetiska framtida scenarier. I det ena scenariot antog vi att ytterligare 23 arter finns vid startpunkten innesluten anv\u00e4ndning i Sverige. Det handlar om arter som privatpersoner kan t\u00e4nkas importera och h\u00e5lla i privata samlingar, som kr\u00e4ftdjur, fiskar, grodor, ekorrar och tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rdsv\u00e4xter. Dessa arter \u00e4r inte till\u00e5tna som husdjur eller tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rdsv\u00e4xter, men de finns i f\u00e5ngenskap eller odling hos privatpersoner i Europeiska unionen idag. Det kommer sannolikt att ta flera \u00e5r innan antalet djur och v\u00e4xter som h\u00e5lls minskar, och under tiden kommer det att vara sv\u00e5rt att kontrollera handel och transporter. I detta hypotetiska framtida scenario \u00f6kar allts\u00e5 n\u00e4rvaron av arter i f\u00e5ngenskap i Sverige. Med ett varmare klimat \u00f6kar sannolikheten f\u00f6r ett antal arter att etablera sig i svensk naturmilj\u00f6.
