Abstract
Description
This dataset comprises ecological and taxonomic data collected in 2017 from Scots pine forest stands in Effaråsen, Sweden, focusing on ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi diversity and SCATA counts. It includes three data files: (1) ECM2017.csv, the raw data, containing relative abundance data for ECM fungi across 245 soil samples with associated retention level categories; (2) stand_leveldata.csv, the aggregated data to the stand level, providing ecological data for the 25 forest stands ; and (3) tax_2017.csv, which lists species taxonomy, SCATA groups, genus, and functional group classifications for the species present in the study. The data were processed using SCATA or standardized taxonomic grouping. An accompanying R script (R_code_clean.R) performs data cleaning, diversity estimation using iNEXT, multivariate ordination (NMDS), correlation analyses, and visualization. This script requires specific R packages listed in the R file, and assumes data files are stored in a relative ./data directory. The dataset supports ecological and mycological research by providing detailed community composition and environmental variables relevant to Scots pine forest fungal diversity in northern Sweden.
